I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
